Air Transportation
Air Transportation Services plays a vital role in the province's Air Ambulance Program. Air ambulance, operating
out of Saskatoon, offers three medically-equipped planes to provide province-wide emergency medical evacuation 24
hours a day, 365 days a year. The air ambulance service plays a critical part in providing an enhanced level of
emergency medical care throughout Saskatchewan.
Air Transportation Services also operates an air service for the Lieutenant Governor, Premier, Ministers, the Speaker,
eligible MLAs and senior officials of government.

Air Transportation Services has Transport Canada certification as an Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO). This
enables SPM maintenance engineers to perform maintenance on aircraft which fall within the authority of the AMO. The
maintenance schedules/requirements for each type of aircraft are dictated by the aircraft manufacturer and Transport
Canada. SPM operates two maintenance bases: one in Regina which is responsible for the executive fleet and the other
in Saskatoon which responsible for the air ambulance aircraft.
